Blog #1: About Friggin’ Time!

Well, it’s about friggin’ time! I’ve been told by friends, family members, company mascots and the occasional hallucination that I should set up my own website. Well, here it is, ya vultures! It took getting over a lot of procrastination and graphic design work to finally sit down and do this, so I am overcome with an overwhelming sense of pride to finally have it all finished and online for my fans. Expect to get updates on my appearances and various projects through this newfangled internet contraption. There are a lot of irons in a lot of fires so expect to see a cavalcade of projects popping up on here and I hope you’ll read them and give me a chance to slowly worm my way into your lives.

I would also like to thank indy band ‘Ookla the Mok’ for contributing their song “Stop talking about comic books or I’ll kill you” as a theme for my podcast. These hilarious and fun artists have been creating nerd inspired music for quite some time and I hope you’ll buy their albums from itunes or your local music store (assuming it hasn’t closed down yet). I was overjoyed when member Rand responded to my email granting me permission, as it’s a perfect theme for the style of podcast we’ll be providing. Speaking of podcasts … well I now have one of those too! Along with good friends Aaron Meers and David Johnston, we will be debating and discussing all things nerds focusing on recent and controversial events within the wide and wacky world of nerdom. I hope you guys will enjoy listening as much as we enjoy recording them.

Also on this site you’ll see updates on my various comic book projects including my main project, ‘Humbug!’ I hope this site will also act as a motivator for me to find time in my busy schedule to get a decent turn-around time for each issue. I have a hard time finding the time to keep this project going and hope that having an interactive outlet with fans will provide a fire under my butt to keep creating. Having received a lot of positive feedback from fans who purchased issues on Free Comic Book Day at Batter’s Box or from this years Hal-Con. I realize the importance of a dependable schedule so please don’t give up on my little book and expect to see a much quicker production process.

Also I have spent a solid week creating this site and am exhausted so keep in your hearts the knowledge that I will be providing much longer blog’s in the future…just not right now, blast it!  Also here you’ll find reviews of comic books, graphic novels, films, television and anything else that catches my attention and deserves praise or damnation.

So, in conclusion…thank you! For creating a need for this website, for supporting my ventures and for just being fans of independent artists in genera,l you guys rock and I look forward to continuing my adventures with each and every one of you.

Ave Atque Vale!

André Myette
